Benoit Pineau grew up near Tours in the Loire Valley, France. His grand father’s dedication for growing vines and making wines inspired him to study Viticulture/Oenology in Bordeaux, Burgundy and obtain his Enologist degree.
Focusing on the Bordeaux varietals Benoit gained his winemaking experience in France, Australia and California.
In addition to wine, Benoit developed an interest in the distilling process. His interest led him to Guadeloupe in the rum-making industry.
In 2005 Benoit arrived in Virginia to work under Claude Thibaut making sparkling at Kluge Estate Winery. In addition to falling for the state’s potential to make great wines, he also met and fell for his now wife Jennifer Pineau.
