VIRGINIA AVA’S

An American Viticulture Area (AVA) is a designated wine grape-growing region in the United States distinguishable by geographic features, with boundaries defined by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), United States Department of the Treasury.

Virginia currently has seven AVA’s, including Middleburg AVA, Monticello AVA, North Fork or Roanoke AVA, Northern Neck George Washington Birthplace AVA, Rock Knob AVA, Shenandoah Valley AVA, Virginia’s Eastern Shore AVA
